AN ACOCKS Green mother who runs a family business is hoping to be crowned Mrs India UK 2019 next month.

Rose Rajdeep Kaur Marlok has beaten more than 250 women to reach the final against 28 others, on April 14 in London.

Rose, who grew up in India, found out about this pageant through a friend who was one of the contestants last year.

The 37-year-old has been raising awareness of domestic violence, mental health issues and allergies during her campaign.

She said: “My daughter was my biggest inspiration in entering this pageant.

“As a growing girl she is going through a lot of body image issues and I wanted to show her that beauty is not all about how you look, its about who you are as person.

“If you asked me this time last year I would not have thought of doing Mrs India UK, I work for the family business Acocks Green dental practice along with my husband Dr Tarlok Singh Marok.”
