A thousand reasons to celebrate Marie Curie fundraiser

Solihull Editorial 7th Dec, 2024   0

TIS THE season of giving – and a kind-hearted Dickens Heath salon owner did just that at a special charity Christmas night.

After seeing the effects of cancer close to home Elle Edwards, owner of Beauty by Ellie, opened her doors for an evening of hair and beauty demonstrations, jewellery pop-ups, drinks, nibbles and more in aid of Solihull’s Marie Curie Hospice.

Despite rising business costs, Ellie is wanted to kindle the spirit of local community, togetherness, and giving at her event.

The evening smashed her original target and guests raised £1,150 for the Marsh Lane hospice.

Elle said: “It’s been a hard few years for many people, and everyone is trying their best. It’s time we pull together and remember what is important – community. Small business owners rely on communities to support them, and wherever possible, we should support them in return.

“Seeing our community come together and be so generous in helping us give back shows how truly special community spirit is.”
