A grand celebration as Shirley neighbours celebrate postcode win

Solihull Editorial 29th Dec, 2020   0

EIGHT people in Shirley had an extra reason to celebrate on Christmas Day after winning £1,000 each thanks to their postcode.

The Stanbrook Road neighbours landed the windfall when B90 4UT was announced as a People’s Postcode Lottery Daily Prize winner on Friday, December 25.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt sent her well-wishes and said: “A massive congratulations to our winners. What a great Christmas present! I hope they had a lovely festive period and enjoy spending their winnings.”

A minimum of 32 per cent of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised more than £600million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted on behalf of NSPCC which has received more than £5.2m in funding thanks to players.

It is the country’s leading children’s charity and works to end child abuse and neglect in every community.

Many good causes close to the winners have also benefitted from players’ support, and local charities can apply for funding next year.
