6th Form College appoints student officers for year ahead

ELECTIONS for the Student Council Executive at Solihull Sixth Form College have taken place and eight students have been appointed to posts of responsibility.

In all 21 students were interviewed online for positions on the council, chasing six executive roles and two ambassador positions.

College Principal Dr Martin Sullivan said: “I was very impressed by all the candidates and all of them could have been appointed to the council.

“I was particularly struck by the way they used Teams for their presentations.

“In my opinion, this is the hardest presentation method, as you do not get any feedback and cannot use any energy from the audience to help with your presentation, but every student rose to the challenge.

“This bodes well for the Student Council for the next two years and I look forward to working with all the students.”

These nine students – all in Year 12 – will work with Student Council Chair Muhammed Lone and the Student Coaching Representatives to be the voice of their fellow students in College.
