12 Dogs of Christmas - Gemma is ready to have a good fun and play fetch

HOMELESS dogs are looking for somewhere to rest their paws this Christmas.

Birmingham Dogs Home has teamed up with The Observer in the hope readers will find a paw-shaped place in their hearts and homes for a four-legged friend.

The charity has seen an influx of unwanted dogs this year with life-threatening and debilitating inherited conditions being left over the lockdown period.

However it has helped to rescue, reunite and rehome over 2,000 dogs this year.

The Catherine-De-Barnes centre has 12 homeless hounds they would love to see in a home.

Birmingham Dogs Home said: “They have all been waiting very patiently to find their “furever homes”.

“If you’re looking to rehome and rescue a dog in the New Year, book a visit today to meet some of our current residents and help give a local rescue dog the new start they deserve in 2022.”

Gemma is a seven-year-old German Shepherd.

She enjoys a good run and playing fetch followed by lots of fuss from people she trusts.

Gemma can be wary around new people but is very loving once she gets to know you.

She needs an adult-only home with owners who have experience with German Shepherds and have the time to form a bond with her.
