£10k reward to find Acocks Green torture suspect

Solihull Editorial 18th Mar, 2024   0

A £10,000 reward has been offered by a charity for information that leads to the arrest of a man wanted on suspicion of torturing an Acocks Green woman.

Mohammed Kasim Khan, 23, is wanted in connection with the extensive torture of a woman over a five-hour period, in a multiple occupancy property in August 2023 and other more recent attacks.

Crimestoppers say the victim’s room was broken into by Khan in the early hours of the morning and he has been on the run ever since and is described as extremely dangerous.

The charity said Khan continuously beat the victim and poured bleach into her eyes and mouth, her hair was burnt and she was forced to strip naked, eat cat food and litter and personal property was also stolen.

She was left with a broken nose, severe swelling to the eyes and significant damage to her mental health.

Khan is wanted in connection with these offences and two other more recent separate attacks, where he allegedly hit one person over the head with a hammer and slashed another with a machete.

Crimestoppers advised residents not approach Khan, but to contact the police or the charity if they wish to stay anonymous.

Alan Edwards, Crimestoppers regional manager, said: “Due to the escalating violent and callous actions of Khan, who is very dangerous, it is vital that he is arrested as soon as possible. There is a real risk that others could come to harm.

“Our charity is supporting the police as they hunt for this individual by offering a reward. We are reminding everyone – especially those who may be intimidated into silence – that they have the option to stay completely anonymous when contacting us.

“Our charity is here for you if you do not want to speak to the authorities directly and prefer not to give your personal details. Crimestoppers is independent of the police and guarantees you stay completely anonymous.”

The reward is available for three months and is due to expire on June 15.

Anyone with information should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online here.
