QUIZ contenders at a community pub in Solihull have raised £10,000 for disadvantaged children in the borough.

Regulars at the Pup and Duckling were presented with a trophy by Solihull Carer’s Trust, after raising £10,000 in charity quiz fundraisers since 2016.

Gina Ward, Deputy CEO of Young Carers Trust said: “We are delighted to give the Pup and Duckling this trophy – their quiz has given all proceeds to support the young carers team, who support young and young adult carers in Solihull.

“Young and young adult carers are children and young people aged 5 – 25 who take on caring responsibilities for their loved ones, despite the impact on their own lives and childhood they do it selflessly – but many are hidden and need support.

“The money raised will make a significant difference to the lives of young and young adult carers in Solihull, by supporting children and young people whose lives are affected by the responsibilities of caring, to receive support with information and advice to training, respite and one to one support work.

“The Pup and Duckling are a great example of local business who really do care about their community.”
