100 Solihull eateries offer ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ discounts under national scheme

BUSINESSES across the borough have signed up to the national ‘Eat out to Help Out’ scheme which aims to encourage customers back to their local restaurants, hotels and cafes.

The  ‘Eat out to Help Out’ offers up to 50 per cent off the cost of a meal, up to a maximum of £10 per person, every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between the 3rd and 31st August.

Over 100 businesses are taking part in Solihull, ranging from large chains to independent eateries, the council says

You don’t need a voucher for the scheme and you can use as many times as you wish.

Councillor Courts, Leader of Solihull Council, said: “It’s great to see so many of our local businesses signing up to the scheme and I hope it will encourage visitors back into our towns and local centres.

“As a council we are putting measures in place to support the safe re-opening of our high streets and provide reassurance to our residents.  We need to support our hospitality industry now more than ever and I encourage people to ‘think and shop local’ wherever possible.”

Melanie Palmer, chief executive of Solihull BID, said: “Our hospitality industry is an essential part of the town centre infrastructure and they have experienced enormous challenges through their lockdown and re-opening.

“The latest government scheme ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ will hopefully encourage the public to visit their local pubs, cafés and restaurants whilst staying as safe as possible. The Solihull venue teams are doing an amazing job to provide a safe environment for all to enjoy, echoing our campaign – we want you back for good!”

Chris Gregory, director of Visit Knowle, said: “Knowle has a fantastic array of places to eat out during the day and in the evening and many of them are signed up to the “Eat Out to Help Out” scheme.  You can find out where you can eat by visiting @VisitKnowle on Facebook.”

Neil Griffin, Centre Manager at Chelmsley Wood Shopping Centre said, “This is a great opportunity to sit down and catch up with friends and family over a coffee or quick bite to eat. It’s also a fantastic way to support a local business that have had to close for a long period of time. Please do support this scheme and local businesses in the heart of the community”.
