The Neales return home for first Solihull show

HOMEGROWN stars, The Neales, are preparing for their first ever performance in Solihull.

The family singers, who made it to the final of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent, are bringing their musical talents back to the borough for a one-night-only performance at Aura Dance Studios.

The intimate gig will see The Neales perform two sets with a Q and A session inbetween.

Despite losing out to acrobatic dog Matisse, the family foursome – comprising of Sheldon-born dad Laurie and his three sons James, Dan and Phil – will be performing the songs that made audiences fall in love with them on the hit ITV programme as well as a promising a selection of covers.

Speaking to The Observer, youngest son Phil, 24, said the family were hoping to keep momentum going after their television appearance.

He added: “Before Britain’s Got Talent we would have never expected our lives taking this path, but going through the experience we realised we loved it and the nation seemed to show an appetite for us.

“This intimate gig is going to hopefully give people a real insight into us as people and look towards out future.”

But as well as handling their newfound fame, The Neales have been holding down full time jobs as lawyers, bankers and marketing managers.

“There has obviously been the temptation to throw in the towel straight after the show,” said Phil, “but that would have been naive.

“We need to hone our craft and develop as an act and know what we want to be and Saturday’s gig will be a real testament to that.

“We’re want to prove that we are not a novelty act – we want to have longevity and that is something we are all committed to.”

Tickets to Saturday’s show cost £20 and can be booked by emailing [email protected] with payment being taken on collection from the studio this week or by posting a cheque to 30 Lincoln Road, Solihull, B27 6PA.

Doors open for the show at 6.30pm for a 7pm start, with audience members of all ages will be welcome.
