Technological Advances and Life Quality

Correspondent 18th Sep, 2023   0

Life has changed so quickly that sometimes it is a bit difficult to be updated with all the technological advancements that are taking big importance in our lives. Apparently, everyday tasks are becoming simpler, and efficiency is the goal to be achieved. Information is just a click away, and services are delivered to your front door almost immediately. But the question is: Is this life quality improvement?

While technology is helping us to achieve better results and improve our efficiency, this ‘free time’ that could be converted into time for joy, is not. I mean, instead of chasing numbers and better statistical graphics, people should dedicate more time to travel, watching their kids grow up, or taking time to be with their loved ones. Life is short is goes by very quickly.

Time is money. I remember hearing that phrase when I was a small kid. Technology has revolutionized the world, become a progress ally, and allowed unprecedented accomplishments in a very short time. It is allowing us to do much more in less time. It’s not about working harder but working smarter. Let’s give the machines repetitive tasks and allow our minds to produce good ideas, better ideas, the same ones that brought us here, in the future.

The world has become quite small. You can gather the brighter minds in an internet room, discussing possible solutions for a specific subject, even if they are miles of distance from each other. This is raising a category of people that have chosen to work and live around the world, using the internet freedom to go anywhere you can find a reliable internet connection. There are a lot of countries facilitating life for tourists who like to live and work traveling abroad. Digital nomads, as they like to be called, have found really nice places to choose from, among wonderful resorts, beachfront houses, and sightseeing places, where having strong money makes everything cheaper and affordable.

But technology is not only about work. The increase in internet speed has opened an endless path of new ways of entertainment. Sometimes I feel in The Jetsons world. With a smartphone and a good connection, you can be on one side of the world and talk, instantly, with someone on the other side of the planet. It’s like Star Trek movies. And if you think this is not enough, you can watch a movie while waiting for an appointment.

But if you are the kind of person who likes gaming, you can even try traditional casino games wherever you are, whenever you want. Some casinos offer a free welcome bonus, to allow new players to try the game without any financial risk. The transactions are very safe, and the casinos must obey several regulations to get their permits. And when you decide to collect your winnings, the process to cash out is so easy, that in some cases the money will be in your account almost immediately.

Business Impact

If you are looking for ways to reduce costs, simplify complex operations, and take control of your company, ensuring that all tasks will run smoothly from start to finish, without avoidable errors, maybe the best option should be to implement sophisticated management software.

Routine tasks that used to demand human involvement now can be delegated to machines, which certainly will reduce errors and save time and resources. One simple example is the automation of payroll processing, where all the taxes and deductions can be calculated flawlessly. Increasing the speed of some repetitive processes also causes a substantial reduction in energy costs.

Some countries are searching for alternative ways to produce clean energy and reduce the carbon footprint on the planet. The replacement of traditional light bulbs is being implemented on a large scale. Smart lighting systems and climate control systems are helping to decrease the necessity of so much power, reducing the cost of utility bills without diminishing our comfort and productivity.

The speed of technological advancements is sometimes scary, but what is called ‘progress’ is inevitable. We are experiencing a transition from an analog world to a digital one, surfing the wave of progress, hoping this tide of technology leads us to a better world. Let’s prepare ourselves. Buckle up because the journey to the future is only beginning.
