Lode Heath School in Solihull has been awarded the ACE School of Character Quality Mark, a national award which recognises outstanding character education to enable the cultivation of positive character qualities.
The award celebrates the high-quality character education at Lode Heath School, which is driven through the schools’ own STARS and PRIDE values to shape the ethos and culture of the school.
The assessment report states that work of Lode Heath School demonstrates “that the purpose of education goes beyond solely the academic and embraces the development of character resulting in a culture of constantly recognising, rewarding and celebrating the demonstration of good character,” by students.
This sentiment is echoed by Associate Headteacher, Laura Suddon, who said: “working together to develop a family ethos we are proud of is just as important as supporting our students on their journey to academic success and so we are delighted that our school has been recognised for this.”
Glen Bate, Chair of Governors, met with students to congratulate them on their achievement and said: “This award recognises the fantastic work of school staff and, more importantly, the students. Being recognised for good character is the most important accolade a parent or carer can hear about their child and we, the Governors, are very proud of the entire Lode Heath family for achieving this award.”
