Solihull Editorial 21st Mar, 2024   0

Over the Easter holidays, Touchwood Solihull has a jam-packed calendar of events to keep the whole family occupied. From Holi celebrations to a VIP culinary demonstration, and immersive ‘Touchdown at Touchwood’ space experience for Easter – there really is something for everyone!

Saturday 23rd March – Art at the Heart for Holi

Welcome in spring with Holi, the Festival of Colour, at Touchwood from 11am-4pm in the Atrium. ‘Art at the Heart’s’ family fun day of colour, culture and creativity will bring love and new life to visitors through vibrant colours in art.

Come and join in the celebrations by painting colourful community murals and decorating a giant community cave with spectacular dazzling colours – you might even spot camouflage chameleons and the giant Hornbill bird! There’s no age limit for the fun, so get your colour on.

Wednesday 27th March – An Evening with Pookie

Hit event ‘An Evening with Pookie’ returns to Touchwood on 27th March. Spanish restaurant, Alioli, will be welcoming MasterChef star Pookie Tredell and guests from 6.30pm for a tantalising Mediterranean journey including a welcome drink, an array of tapas and live culinary demonstrations.

Pookie is a local Solihull resident and rose to fame when she was runner-up on MasterChef UK in 2022. Tickets for the hugely popular event are being sold at £35 per person.

Saturday 23rd – Saturday 30th March and Monday 1st – Sunday 7th April – ‘Touchdown at Touchwood’ this Easter

The Easter action launches with immersive space experience, ‘Touchdown at Touchwood’, where the centre’s very own spacecraft will land on Jubilee Walk from 11am-3pm each day.

The out of this world experience will create excitement and joy for the whole family, as children step inside the spacecraft to assist with its take off to the moon. Visitors can compete in a series of tasks to pass to the next level, with a range of games to participate in.

Guests will also be wowed by a planetarium that will transport them to space and joined by astronauts on selected days to hear tales of their past adventures. There will even be the opportunity to dress up as an astronaut and learn how to walk the moon. Those who are successful will pass-out of astronaut school and get a graduation certificate to take home.
