GREAT OPPORTUNITY: High-profile role for strong local leader

Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System (ICS) are looking for a new Chair to bring together leaders from all parts of the Birmingham and Solihull NHS.

This is a significant, high-profile role at the cutting edge of public sector reform. You will bring strong strategic leadership skills needed to compassionately and inclusively lead a significant Board, and demonstrated by a career record of achievement at the highest levels, including stewardship of significant funds and resources.

You will also champion diversity, inclusion, and equality for all.  With political acumen and excellent communication skills, you should be able to build strong partnerships across complex boundaries that have driven practical, community-led change.

Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System (BSOL) brings together local NHS, councils and voluntary community and faith sectors to better serve local residents.

As set out in their 10 year Strategy for Health and Care they are working together to plan how they will transform health and social care services to meet the changing needs of local people. They are focussed on how best to encourage and support better health and well-being, and provide improved and sustainable health and care services, for the population of Birmingham and Solihull.

Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System (ICS) support 1.36 million people, with more than 1.14 million people living in Birmingham and more than 217,000 in Solihull.


Appointments will be made on merit after a fair and open process so that the best people, from the widest possible pool of candidates, are appointed.

Remuneration for the role is £65,000 per annum for approximately 2-3 days per week.
