EARLSWOOD Town saw their two-game winning run come to an end following a heavy 5-1 home defeat against high-flying Birmingham United.
A stunning goal from Harry Dixon proved in vain as Birmingham cruised to victory at The Pavilions.
And the result means the Earls sit ninth in the Midland Football League Division Two table.
The visitors broke the deadlock after just eight minutes when Connoll Farrell headed in at the far post from Lewan Tobin’s in-swinging cross.
Earlswood almost drew level only for Ben Maxwell to push Andy Matthews’ powerful strike from close range onto the crossbar.
However, Birmingham doubled their lead when Jahvan Howell finished coolly in a one-on-one situation.
The Earls halved the deficit after the break when Dixon curled a sublime effort into the top left corner to score his ninth goal in as many matches.
And Dizon went close again only to see his dipping free-kick from a similar position rattle the crossbar,
Birmingham restored their two-goal lead when Connor Doyle finished well from a tight angle.
And late goals from Foday Nabay and Josh Gilmour saw the Earls slip to their heaviest home defeat of the season.
Earlswood are next in action against AFC Solihull on Satuday, October 12 with kick-off at 3pm at Rumbush Lane.
