ODANE Barnes scored a hat-trick as Knowle romped to a huge 7-0 victory against struggling Lane Head.
Barnes opened the scoring before grabbing two late goals at the Draintech Community Ground as Brandon Hague, Tom Craine, Zak Parsons and Callum Burston-Keeley all found the net.
The result means Knowle sit two points clear at the top of the Midland Football League Division Two table with a game in-hand on closest challengers Birmingham United.
Knowle’s joint manager Clive Seeley said: “The boys were good, we thought they’d be defensive and we said to be patient, it was like a testimonial in the first 15 minutes, we wanted a bit more urgency.
“Once we got the first goal we went into cruise control and there were some fantastic performances out there.”
Knowle opened the scoring when Barnes fired home from a tight angle after a surging run from Parsons.
And the Robins doubled their lead four minutes later as Hague scored a screamer from 25-yards out to put the home side in command.
The hosts stretched their lead soon after when Craine won a penalty and picked himself up to score the resulting spot kick.
Parsons then grabbed a goal for himself when he pounced on a loose ball to find the net.
Substitute Burston-Keeley made it five before Barnes completed his hat-trick with a late double.
Knowle are next in action against Bolehall Swifts on Saturday, October 12 with kick-off at 3pm at Rene Road.
