THERE was double delight for a Solihull restaurant which has been named as one of the world’s ‘best hidden gem’ restaurants.
Tripadvisor revealed that Lavang claimed the number four spot in its ‘hidden gems’ in the world – ahead of restaurants in Peru, Brazil, Italy, Croatia and Spain and it also claimed top spot in the ‘hidden gem’ restaurant in the UK category.
Lavang was also number five in the UK ‘casual dining’ category. The awards are based on 12 months of global review data and showcase the website’s users’ favourite dining spots for 2024 across nine categories.
The Old Lode Lane restaurant specialises in South East Asian cuisine for customers dining in and takeaway.
Lavang has a five-star rating on Tripadvisor – with more than 1,000 independent reviews.
A review left by Angharad d on Trip Advisor earlier this month read: “What a lovely place! First visit last night and it definitely won’t be the last. Food was beautifully presented and more importantly tasted great. The staff were all friendly and efficient and there was a great atmosphere. Plenty of choice on the menu too.”
Paul James said: “I decided to ask the waiter to recommend a dish for me. After a couple questions he said I have just the one. When the food arrived I was taken back with the great presentation but that was nothing in comparison to how it tasted. All of the food for the table not only presented well but tasted amazing.
A local restaurant decorated stylishly with polite and helpful staff with a great atmosphere.”
