HARRY Dixon scored a brace as Earlswood Town claimed an impressive 3-0 victory against Cadbury Athletic.
Dixon’s double put the Earls in command at the break before defender Callum Tranter completed the scoring late on at The Pavilions.
The result means Earlswood sit 10th in the Midland Football League Division Two table after securing their second league win of the season.
Joel Hughes’ side made the perfect start when Dixon pounced on a stray pass to curl a shot over Fraser Oliver from range after just three minutes.
The home side went close again soon after as Hughes headed narrowly wide before Oliver kept out Dixon’s powerful effort.
However, Earlswood’s pressure paid off when Dixon took advantage of Oliver’s poor positioning to fire into an empty net and score his seventh goal in eight games.
The Earls looked to add to their lead late on with substitute David Maison twice denied by Oliver.
Hughes’ men eventually sealed the points when Tranter fired a powerful effort into the bottom left corner from the edge of the penalty area.
Earlswood are next in action against Inkberrow on Saturday, September 21 with kick-off at 3pm at Sands Road.
