JOSH Kelly’s 12th goal of the season proved in vain as Solihull Moors suffered a 2-1 defeat away at Maidenhead United.

Kelly drew Moors level after Tobi Sho-Silva opened the scoring before Sam Barratt won the game for Maidenhead with a goal from distance at York Road.

The result means Solihull sit fifth in the National League table three points inside the play-off places.

Maidenhead took the lead on 11 minutes when Sho-Silva finished from six-yards out after Nick Hayes saved Barratt’s initial effort.

However, Kelly equalised for Moors on 36 minutes with a fine touch and finish, drilling the ball into the bottom left corner from 12-yards out against his former club.

The Magpies regained the lead on 69 minutes when Barratt collected a loose ball before firing a powerful low effort into the bottom right corner from 25-yards out.

Moors almost found a leveller at the death only for Jamey Osborne to see his curling effort cleared off the line by Sam Beckwith following a one-two with Jack Stevens.

Solihull are next in action at home to Dagenham and Redbridge on Tuesday, January 30 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the ARMCO Arena.
