GEORGE Seeley scored twice as Knowle claimed the derby day spoils with a comfortable 3-0 victory against Solihull rivals Earlswood Town.

Seeley netted either side of half time before Tom Craine completed the scoring just past the hour mark at The Pavilions.

The result means Knowle remain top of the Midland Football League Division Two table with Earlswood down in fifth place.

Knowle’s joint manager Matthew Seeley said: “It was a good performance and a disciplined performance, we were so in control.

“We were a couple of levels better than them in every single department, we were superb.

“The forward line we’ve got is frightening, there is a brilliant vibe around here at the moment and we were exceptional.

“We stifled them, we knew exactly where to get them and how to hurt them.”

Earlswood struggled on their home patch against a Knowle side in imperious form as Seeley broke the deadlock on 20 minutes with a fine finish from 12-yards out after good work from Jay Rendell and Jack Mullen

And the visitors doubled their lead just one minute into the second half as Seeley’s sensational free-kick from 35-yards out found the top right corner.

The Earls looked for a way back into the game and forced Knowle goalkeeper Craig Johnson into a couple of saves as the Robins held firm.

And the away side sealed the points on 62 minutes when Craine pounced on a mistake at the back and slotted home.

This weekend, Knowle make the trip to Littleton’s Five Acres ground while Earlswood travel to Alcester Town’s Stratford Road ground.

Both games take place on Saturday, September 30 with kick-off at 3pm.
