SAM Easterbrook helped England to victory at the Home Internationals competition after overcoming Ireland, Scotland and Wales in the three-day tournament at Lindrick Golf Club.
Easterbrook, who plays out of Olton Golf Club, was part of the boys’ team who beat Scotland 11-1 and Wales 8-4 before slipping to a 7-5 defeat to Ireland who lifted the boys’ section trophy.
However, England came home with the overall trophy after the girls’ team produced an outstanding team performance to win their section.
Easterbrook won all four of his foursomes matches alongside Frazer Jones and triumphed in four of his six matches overall.
Performance manager for men’s golf, Stephen Burnett, said: “It was a great battle on the final morning but Ireland got points in the singles in the early afternoon and despite us coming back at them at the end, it wasn’t quite enough to secure the Boys’ Home Internationals trophy.
“That said, it was another awesome week for the Boys who played some great golf and a special mention must go to Lindrick who have been fantastic hosting this event.”
