MIDLANDS Football League Division Two side Earlswood Town have announced Tom Reynolds as their new manager for the 2019/20 season.

Reynolds, who as of last season captained AFC Solihull to a third-place finish in the division, was named Midland Football League overall player of the season in 2018, and takes a player-manager role at the Solihull club.

The 33-year old has accumulated a strong portfolio at this level, having turned out for MFL Premier Division sides Racing Club Warwick and Highgate United in the past, but now takes on the challenge of leading the club up the MFL Division Two table after the club finished in a lowly position last term.

A committee at Earlswood Town viewed Reynolds as the ideal man for the job following a succession of meetings, and believe he can have a similar impact to the one that he had at AFC Solihull.

Reynolds said he grasped at the chance to manage at The Pavilions, and is looking forward to his first foray into management.

“This is a big opportunity for me and one I may not get the chance at again had I turned it down.

“It’s a big club in the Midland League with good tradition and good people running it, and needs a bit of help to get going again.

“I’m 33-years old now so I see this as a natural progression for me, and I can’t wait to get started.”

The new manager has made promotion at the first attempt his immediate goal, and has already started engaging in work on and off the pitch ready for next season.
