WITH A lively atmosphere, friendly staff and strong selection of food, Solihull’s Slug & Lettuce is the ideal place to spend a chilled evening in the company of friends.
An impressive range of food, drinks and cocktails stand out to the visitor – and Observer reporter Shaun Reynolds spend a night at the venue to see what the bar and grill had to offer.
Situated in the heart of Solihull at the town’s Touchwood Shopping Centre, the Slug & Lettuce invited myself and two friends along to try out the new menu with a starter, main and drink of our choice.
The obvious choice of starter was curly fries with pulled pork and sauce.
Swift service and even swifter eating – a clear sign of good food – all but confirmed our tastebuds were rattled.
For drinks we decided to choose from the wide range of cocktails on offer – myself choosing a Strawberry based mix which proved to pack a punch.
For main, I ordered a delicious seafood platter complete with King Prawns and Salmon.
Barring Sushi, I’m a lover of all things fish – particularly shell fish, you can’t beat a good tub of cockles or mussels by the sea.
Despite being as far away from the sea as you can get, Slug & Lettuce defied the land-lock location and perfected the platter.
Although we went for the food, it’s clear Solihull Slug & Lettuce is a lively, popular and common bar in the town centre with plenty of people present celebrating, catching up or just going for a quick drink.
In short, Slug & Lettuce provides a swift, affordable and relaxed evening that cannot disappoint.
