Man accused of Fordbridge machete attack to appear in court

A MAN accused of a machete attack in Fordbridge which left a man with serious injuries is due to appear before magistrates today (Tuesday).

Unemployed Carl Gamble, aged 19 from Lowerstack Croft, Chelmsley Wood, was arrested yesterday (Monday) and charged with wounding and possessing a weapon in a public place.

The attack happened on Tile Cross Road just after 8am last Monday (January 25)

A 50-year-old man suffered serious injuries, which required hospital treatment. He was released two days later and is now recuperating with his family.




A 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assault remains on police bail while enquiries continue.
