HARRISON Morrow, from Solihull, secured an impressive class victory on his car racing debut at Silverstone.

The teenager secured a class victory in his second race competing in the United Formula Ford Championship.

Morrow took to the grid in a 1990s Reynard Formula Ford, racing in the Heritage class against a full field of 33 drivers.

Many of the drivers boasted newer and more developed cars only for Morrow to produce a standout performance across the event.

Morrow qualified inside the top-15 overall and completed both races cleanly as he showed maturity beyond his years.

And Morrow claimed a class win in his second race following a race-long, wheel-to-wheel battle with another driver.

Morrow said: “The weekend was about learning how to race the car properly.

“We’ve spent a lot of time understanding it, so this was about putting that into practice in a race environment.”

Morrow’s 34-year-old Formula Ford car presents a different challenge to the young driver compared to more modern machinery.

And Morrow skilfully guided the car around the Silverstone track with no damage and showed a consistent level of performance across all sessions.

He now leads the class after two rounds while his Silverstone debut marks the beginning of his first full season in car racing.

Morrow and his team will compete at Brands Hatch this weekend in the first round of the Super Classic Formula Ford Championship.
