SOLIHULL-based racing driver Harrison Morrow continued his development ahead of the 2026 season with two productive test sessions in his newly-prepared Formula Ford 1600 car.
The 16-year-old featured in the prestigious Walter Hayes Trophy in 2025 and has since worked closely with Shaws Motorsport to prepare a 1992 Reynard Formula Ford race car.
Morrow took part in test days at Mallory Park and Silverstone with the focus on understanding the car rather than chasing lap times.
At Mallory Park, Morrow completed his first full shakedown of the car as he worked through the initial setup and mechanical issues.
Despite running on older tyres and dealing with minor reliability problems, he showed promising pace and consistency and gained valuable seat time.
Morrow then headed to Silverstone where he worked closely with highly respected engineer Dave Morgan.
Morgan has worked with over 20 Championship-winning Formula Ford cars across his career.
In challenging conditions, Morrow focuses on tuning the car’s balance and improving driver feedback.
The team ran the car on used tyres to maintain a consistent baseline which allowed for meaningful setup changes throughout the test.
Morrow said: “The biggest thing for me was understanding the car and how to work with it properly.
“Once things started to come together, it felt very natural to drive, which is a really positive place to be heading into the season.”
With a full race programme planned across the UK, competing in the National Super Classic Formula Ford Championship, Morrow’s focus now shifts from development to competition.
Morrow also plans to race in selected European events as well.
