COPT Heath Golf Club, in Solihull, will once again host the prestigious Peter McEvoy Trophy for the 45th consecutive year.
The historic junior championship takes place on Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16 at the Warwick Road venue in Knowle.
The 45th edition will once again attract the leading junior talent in the sport to the West Midlands for a 72-hole open stroke-play tournament.
Former winner Tom McKibbin, who lifted the trophy at Copt Heath in 2019 following a play-off, is now a T100 world-ranked player (currently world number 77), welcomed the tournament’s return and reflected on the event’s role in developing future stars.
McKibbin said: “The Peter McEvoy Trophy meant a lot to me as an amateur and it’s an event I look back on with really good memories.
“Playing against such a strong field at Copt Heath was a great test and definitely helped shape my mindset and belief in my game.
“It’s great to see how the tournament continues to give young players a chance to showcase their talent and I’d like to wish everyone competing this year the very best of luck, enjoy it.”
The Trophy will follow a 72-hole format, with 36 holes played on the first day.
The leading 40 players and ties will then progress to the final day for the concluding 36 holes.
In the event of a tie after 72 holes, a sudden-death play-off will decide the title, starting on the 18th hole and continuing via 18, 1 and 9 as required.
The Tournament Committee also reserves the right to award two wildcard entries to eligible local golfers outside of the ballot process.
The player returning the best gross score over 72 holes will lift the Peter McEvoy Trophy, with prizes also awarded from second to sixth place (inclusive).
The winner will hold the Trophy for one year and receive a replica trophy.
