BIRMINGHAM and Solihull Bees won the ‘dirt tracker’ team prize – the volunteer grounds team of the year award.
Chairman of North Midlands RFU, Malcolm Harris, presented the club with a trophy and certificate.
‘Dirt trackers’ are a group of volunteers who work in and around the ground taking on a number of responsibilities on matchdays.
This includes washing kit, catering, looking after the changing rooms and cutting the grass among other important tasks.
Birmingham and Solihull’s lady president, Rona Higgins said: “This award is not just for the Tuesday dirt trackers, this recognition is for all of the volunteers at the club.
“Those working behind the scenes and in front of the scenes.
“So this award is for every single one of the club’s volunteers, who volunteer their time in support of this wonderful club.
“I’m so very proud of everyone.”
