MATT Taylor has demanded ‘more consistency’ from his Solihull Moors players with the club still winless in the National League this season.
Moors suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Southend United at Damson Park with Taylor’s side the only team yet to win a game in the National League this campaign.
And with Moors now bottom of the table, Taylor wants more consistency from his players and hopes to see more confidence and belief from his side.
Taylor said: “The issue is consistency. We want more consistency out of the group.
“That 25 to 30-minute period against Aldershot is defining our season.
“The players need to play with more confidence and belief but it is difficult.
“They have to be strong in their mindset and understand trust is key.”
A brace from former Moors striker Andrew Dallas came either side of Dan Creaney’s sublime half volley.
And Taylor rued costly mistakes from his side despite an improved second-half performance.
Taylor added: “We were our own worst enemy. We made two errors and they’ve turned the ball over and hit us on the counter attack.
“I actually thought the second half performance was quite good. We gained some momentum and territory. I felt we were in the ascendancy.
“If anyone was going to go on and get a winning goal I thought it would be us.
“But we switch off and make an error and it costs us getting anything out of the game.
“The difference between the teams is they made fewer errors than we did defensively.”
Solihull are next in action against Yeovil Town on Tuesday, September 2 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Damson Park.
