FOOTBALL - Matt Taylor expects new signings at Solihull Moors after difficult start to season

MATT Taylor confirmed Solihull Moors are looking to add more players to their squad after failing to win any of their first five games of the season.

Moors endured a bank holiday weekend to forget after suffering a 5-1 defeat against Aldershot Town before losing 2-0 away at Altrincham.

The results leave Moors languishing in the National League relegation zone.

And with striker Conor Wilkinson ruled out for at least two months, Taylor insists new signings are on the way.

Taylor said: “We’ve had some really bad news around Conor [Wilkinson] he’s fractured three of his vertebrae after coming on at Sutton.

“He’s going to be out for at least eight to 10 weeks. He’s such a big player for us at the top of the pitch.

“Things aren’t going for us. We’re only five games into the season. We need to add to the group and that’s something we’re going to do.

“It’s down to the players now to take the opportunity when they’re given it in the next game.

“I share the anger and feelings of the supporters. The players aren’t trying to make mistakes.

“We continue trying. It needs to be a big week in terms of recruitment. We’ve definitely got one maybe two coming in.

“I feel the group needs a bit of a change. We need a bit more dynamism at the top of the pitch.”

Solihull host Southend United on Saturday, August 30 with kick-off at 12.30pm at Damson Park.
