BIRMINGHAM and Solihull Bees secured a fifth straight win with a bonus point 38-19 victory against Coventry Welsh.
The Bees ran in six tries as Will Heath, Jake Wright and PJ Hatch all crossed twice at Burbages Lane.
And the result means Solihull sit sixth in the Counties 2 Midlands West (East) table.
The visitors started brightly as Heath showed excellent footwork to break free and score the game’s first try before adding the extras.
And Heath made another break later in the first half to score his second try and also kicked the conversion.
The Bees lost Jack Allen to the sin-bin before the break and Coventry took full advantage to halve the deficit with a converted try.
However, Solihull responded early in the second period as Wright picked up the ball just inside the Bees half and ran to the try line with Heath again adding the extras.
The home side kept themselves in the game with an unconverted try only for Wright to cross for his second of the game with a 35-yard run to the line as Heath kicked the conversion.
The teams continued to trade tries as Hatch dotted down for the visitors before Coventry crossed for their third try.
However, Hatch scored the game’s final try after pouncing on an error to score his second of the game.
Birmingham and Solihull Bees are next in action against Earlsdon on Saturday, March 8 with kick-off at 3pm at Portway.
