KNOWLE Ladies beat higher division Solihull Moors Foundation Women 2-1 to advance in the Women’s Challenge Cup.
Led out by Knowle’s under-10 Spitfires, the game took place in horrendous conditions with chances at a premium throughout.
The Robins went close early on as Katie Atter beat Moors goalkeeper Georgie Buttle only for the ball to travel the wrong side of the post.
Moors went close at the other end as Knowle stopper Jess Jenkinson denied Evie Quinn from a tight angle.
Solihull broke the deadlock soon after as Lexi Blaxland looped a header into the net at the near post from a corner.
However, Knowle equalised on the stroke of half time when Morgan Betteridge’s corner curled over the line despite the best efforts of Buttle to keep the ball out.
With penalties looming, the home side completed the turnaround on 79 minutes as Natalie Gibson lobbed the ball over Buttle from the edge of the penalty area from Nelia-Cristina Severin’s pass.
