CLIVE Seeley admits Knowle’s goalless draw with Northfield Town feels like ‘two points dropped’ despite the Robins remaining top of the table.

Knowle saw their nine-game winning run in all competitions come to an end after Toby Scott also saw a late penalty saved at the Draintech Community Stadium.

The Robins sit two points clear at the top of the Midland Football League Division Two table and Seeley felt his side did enough to win the game.

Seeley said: “It feels like a loss in the dressing room because we created enough chances to win two games.

“Credit to Northfield, they dug in, they’ve got some very experienced players, they know how to play the game.

“I can’t help but feel as if it’s two points dropped, we did enough to win the game.

“They could have nicked it at the end but we’re still top of the table and I’m pleased with the performance.”

Knowle made a bright start as Odane Barnes raced down the right and crossed for Zak Parsons who sent a free header into the side netting at the back post.

And Northfield goalkeeper Tom Walker made a number of fine saves in the first period to keep the Robins at bay.

Walker produced a heroic display between the sticks for the visitors and also kept out Scott’s tame penalty on 78 minutes after Myles Brooks handled the ball in the box.

Northfield almost stole the points at the death only for Robins goalkeeper Craig Johnson to make a superb save and ensure the home side remain unbeaten this season.

Knowle host Birmingham United on Saturday, November 2 with kick-off at 2pm at the Draintech Community Stadium.
