EARLSWOOD Town are set to launch a junior set up for the first time in the football club’s history.

In partnership with experienced coaching providers Sport Development (UK) Ltd, The Pavilions in Malt House Lane will play host to Saturday morning training sessions for boys and girls aged from three to six-years-old.

Supplementary sessions will also be held at Light Hall School in Shirley on Tuesday evenings.

Ad-hoc fixtures will be considered with the view to launching junior teams under The Earls’ name into local leagues for the start of the 2022/23 campaign.

The proposal comes with the blessing of landowner and Earlswood Town vice-president Howard Aucote and is the latest step in the club’s efforts to become an asset to the surrounding community.

Andy Walker, Earlswood Town chairman, said: “This is a significant development for our football club. We are eager to increase our outreach within the Earlswood community and be of benefit to local residents.

“The launch of a junior set up allows us to take that step forward. Whether it’s parents just looking to get their children active on a Saturday morning or a desire to introduce them to the many benefits of being involved in a team sport, we want to create Earlswood Town fans for life.”

Registration for Earlswood Town Juniors’ sessions are now open with nursery and reception age groups from 9.30am to 10.20am and year one and two from 10.30am to 11.30am. The Tuesday evening sessions will also be open to year one, two and three pupils from 5pm to 6pm.
