The hottest acts set to perform at Radio 1’s Big Weekend announced

COVENTRY’S War Memorial Park will play host to Radio 1’s flagship live music event with over 80,000 Radio 1 fans expected to attend the three day festival which will take place from 27–29 May 2022.

The acts announced today include Ed Sheeran, Calvin Harris and Anne-Marie.

Tickets for Radio 1’s Big Weekend go on sale at 8.30am Friday 18 March, Saturday and Sunday Tickets will cost £21.50 (plus a £4.50 booking fee per ticket) and Friday Tickets will cost £12.50 (plus a £2.50 booking fee per ticket).

Ed Sheeran said: “I can’t wait to kick off festival season and perform in front of a live audience at Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2022 in Coventry. See you all there!”




Aled Haydn Jones, Head of Radio 1 said: “We are kicking off the UK’s festival season in true Radio 1 style with an incredible line up of acts already on the bill, and more exciting names to be revealed this week.

“We can’t wait to bring our flagship live music event to Coventry for 2022.”


Tickets will be geographically weighted with a percentage available to each of the local areas.

Coventry City Council residents will have 60 percent of tickets reserved, 25 percent of tickets will be reserved for those living in surrounding areas including remaining Coventry postcodes, Birmingham postcodes and selected Leicester postcodes, whilst the remaining 15 percent of tickets will be available for the rest of the UK.
