National Trust's top historic winter walks across Warwickshire

Solihull Editorial 26th Dec, 2018   0

FAMILIES are being urged to take an historic winter walk in Warwickshire.

The National Trust is encouraging people to pull on their walking boots and explore the many special places the conservation charity looks after across Warwickshire.

National Trust visitor experience manager Michѐle Waugh said: “Our special places are perfect for getting out and stretching your legs with the family.

“Come and breathe in the fresh air on one of our winter walks. Walking isn’t just good exercise for the body; it’s a great way to relax and unwind after the busy festive period too.”

Michѐle’s top picks include –

* Baddesley Clinton – There are a variety of walks and trails to enjoy on your visit to Baddesley Clinton. Come and experience panoramic views, a range of wildlife, and the opportunity to learn about local history.

* Upton House and Gardens – Whether you choose to take a simple walk around the garden, or embark on one of the more challenging countryside ambles, Upton has the perfect routes to blow away the cobwebs.

* Charlecote Park – Take a stroll through this beautiful ‘Capability’ Brown-inspired landscape at any time of year, along mown grassy paths that are suitable for big-wheeled buggies. Shakespeare’s Avon and the lake offer plenty of wildlife-spotting opportunities along the way.

* Packwood – Perfect for families, don your wellies and get muddy on Packwood’s Welly Walk or go for a longer stroll taking in the Stratford Upon Avon Canal. Four legged friends are very welcome in the park, but not in the house and gardens.

And visitors are also being urged to use #NTwarkswalks and share their photos across the trust’s social channels.
