A MAN has been arrested following a fatal pile-up on the M6 early this morning.
The 33-year-old from St Helen’s was arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving after five vehicles including three lorries, a van and a car, crashed on the M6 northbound, near Coventry at around 1.45am.
Two land ambulances and an air ambulance arrived at the scene where a 38-year-old man was confirmed dead.
Two lorry drivers – one man in his 30s and another in his 50s – were treated for leg injuries and taken to hospital.
The road was closed for more than eight hours while officers investigated.
Anyone witnesses or anyone who saw the vehicles in the moments before the crash, should call police on 101.
