Harrier hounds who have spent combined five years in kennels hoping to sniff out new homes

DOGS who have spent a combined five years in kennels are hoping to sniff out a new home.

The six Harrier hounds at Dogs Trust Kenilworth include long-term residents Gunner and Bailey and new arrivals Esme and Isla.

Centre manager Emma Healey said: “We are asking dog-lovers who want a lively, intelligent dog in their lives to consider adopting one of our Harriers.

“From sweet, sensitive Ferne who came to us last spring and who is the youngest at just one, to Esme and Isla who are the oldest at six and arrived at the start of the year, they all deserve great homes with families who will love them for who they are.”

All are very active and need secure gardens in their new homes. They would also need their new owners to be around most of the time as they do not like to be left home alone.

Most can share a home with teenagers and other dogs, but Isla and Bailey would need to be the only dogs in the home.

Emma added: “They are all similar in some ways but have their own individual characters too.

“Between them they have spent 1,825 days at Dogs Trust and although we love looking after them, we would be very happy to be waving a fond farewell to them, knowing they have found their perfect families.”
