Fund-raisers urged to get colourful in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support

HATTON Country World is set to be given a colourful makeover in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Fund-raisers are urged to sign up to a 5km colour run on Sunday May 3 which will see participants doused in paints as they run, walk or dance around the course.

Last year’s event raised more than £9,000 for the charity’s work across Coventry and Warwickshire – but this year it is hoping to beat that total.

It has been organized by the charity’s ‘Warwickshire Allstars Committee’, which is urging families and people of all ages to sign up.

Spokeswoman Alison Cullinane said: “We would love to raise even more money this year so the vital work Macmillan do in Coventry and Warwickshire can carry on.

“It costs £29 an hour to pay for a Macmillan nurse and with more people now being diagnosed with cancer and we want to ensure that they have the help and support they need.”

Tickets cost £19.50 for adults (£11.50 for children) and £55 for two adults, two children. The price includes a tshirt, glasses and a medal.

Those taking part are encouraged to support the charity event further by gaining sponsorship.
