Dogs Trust fun day to be held this weekend

Solihull Editorial 5th Jun, 2018   0

DOGS Trust is promising its annual fun day will be ‘bigger and better than ever’.

The charity is holding the event at Hatton County World to raise money for the some 150 dogs at its Kenilworth centre which are looking for new homes.

From 11am to 4pm on Sunday (June 10) there will be demonstrations from local dog clubs, the prison service, Warwickshire Search and Rescue and a Dogs Trust rehoming parade along with a raffle, stalls and refreshments.

And for four-legged-friends there will also be the chance to win a rosette in the fun dog show.

Dogs Trust spokeswoman Jane Hirons said: “Our fun day is a fantastic opportunity to meet local dog lovers and raise pounds for the homeless hounds in our care. There are all sorts of exciting activities planned throughout the day so please come along and support Dogs Trust Kenilworth, we can promise you a really fun day out for all the family.”

The charity is still calling for items for the raffle such as boxes of chocolates, bottles of wine, beauty products, unwanted gifts and dog items such as treats and toys.

Jane added: “The prize raffle plays a huge role in the day. We’re so grateful for those who have donated wonderful goods already – but if you’d like to donate anything that we could put to use, we’d be so grateful as the more prizes we have, the more money we can raise for our wonderful dogs.”

The entrance fee is £2 for adults and 50p for children. Dogs are free.

Drop raffles prizes into the Kenilworth rehoming centre in Honiley.
