SWEET smiles were all round when elderly and vulnerable Silhillians visited Cadbury World in Bournville.
In a bid to tackle loneliness Brian Miles organised the trip, which was partly funded by Yardley Neighbourhood Network Scheme, for 53 residents to visit the home of the infamous Dairy Milk bar.
Brian said: “There are a whole host of reasons why residents are encouraged to get involved, some residents may be bereaved or have mobility issues.
“The idea behind the trip was to help relieve loneliness amongst elderly people and build their confidence to participate in the community, by providing inclusion to create a more positive outlook.
“The day was a great success with Cadbury World providing a very fun and educational time for everyone.”
