AN APPEAL has been launched to find a man after he was seen throwing a cat into the air by its tail.

CCTV footage shows the man leaning down to pet the cat in Baker Avenue, Stratford before grabbing it and throwing it around ten feet in the air.

The attack happened on August 29 just after 5pm and was also witnessed by several people who alerted animal charity RSPCA.

RSPCA insp Thea Kerrison said: “The man was seen picking up a cat and throwing it into the air before it hits the pavement.

“We’d like to speak to anyone who lives in the area with any information which may help our investigation and hope that any witnesses can get in touch.

“Carrying out such an unprovoked and violent attack on a defenceless cat is sickening and it’s important we track down the person responsible.”
