Poets share verse at RSC in Stratford-on-Avon

Solihull Editorial 26th Apr, 2018   0

POETS are sharing their verse at the RSC in Stratford.

Free poetry night Bright Smoke – presented by Apples and Snakes, promoters of performance poetry and the spoken word –

takes place in Susie’s Café Bar on the ground floor foyer at The Other Place studio theatre.

It features some of the country’s best known poets and performers – hosted by Birmingham-based poet Joe Cook – and each night will see a headline act perform alongside an emerging poet. Open mic slots will also be available on the night.

Audiences are warned performers’ work is unedited, and may contain strong language and adult themes.

The next Bright Smoke night is on May 10 with Jamie Thrasivoulou and Annabel Peet, starting at 7.30pm; followed by

Travis Alabanza on June 14 at 6.45pm; Harry Baker and Georgina Wilding on July 12 at 7.30pm; Bridget Minamore and Shruti Chauhan on September 13 at 7.30pm; and Inua Ellams and Malakaï Sargeant on November 8 at 7.30pm.
