Playground spat brings parents to loggerheads in The God of Carnage at Leamington's Loft Theatre

A PLAYGROUND spat brings parents to loggerheads in The God of Carnage at Leamington’s Loft Theatre.

Yasmina Reza’s award-winning knock about comedy runs from January 17 to 27. Christopher Hampton’s translation premiered in London in 2008 to great acclaim, winning both the Tony and Laurence Olivier Awards for best comedy the following year.

The play deals with the aftermath of a playground spat between two 11-year-old boys.

That night, the boys’ parents meet up to discuss the matter, but despite the good intentions of both couples to resolve the matter civilly, as the evening wears on cracks begin to show and the polite veneer breaks down.

The ‘entente’ becomes anything but ‘cordiale’ and all hell breaks loose.
