ANDY Whing admits Solihull Moors 3-0 home defeat against York City is one of the toughest results of his tenure at the club.
An already depleted Moors lost their only fit striker, Conor Wilkinson, to injury in the second half at Damson Park as Tyrese Sinclair netted a late brace after Ashley Nathaniel-George opened the scoring.
And Whing admits Moors need to dig deep to start picking up results following a run of three straight home defeats.
Whing said: “It was really tough, probably one of the toughest since I’ve been here, when it rains it pours sometimes – our only fit striker comes off injured.
“We can’t get any rhythm in terms of patterns, the front four at the end is barely a front four. We’ve got a right back playing right wing, a four and eight playing as a 10 and a 10 playing as a striker.
“I have to hold my hands up, I take full responsibility, the game became too open in the second half and we got punished.
“It’s a tough period, the injuries compound that as well but we have to find a way and dig deep to get some results.”
York took the lead on 42 minutes when Moors failed to deal with a long ball in behind and Nathaniel-George took the ball past Laurie Walker and fired a shot into the bottom left corner.
And the visitors doubled their lead with nine minutes left to play as Sinclair curled a fine effort into the right corner of the goal from the left edge of the penalty area.
Sinclair completed the scoring three minutes later when he finished Lenell John-Lewis’s square ball from close range.
Solihull are next in action against Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday, September 28 with kick-off at 3pm at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.
