A CRICKET match which would see NHS workers go against England and Wales’ transplant team has been called off.
Organisers have postponed the match, which was set to wake place at Moseley Cricket Club, due to ‘very unpredictable weather forecast’ on Sunday (September 22).
George Brann-Liff, one of the match organisers, said: “We had a number of players voice their concerns and trepidation and with so many other people travelling some distances and the unpredictable forecast I would find it unjust of me to ask people to dodge showers for a limited amount of play, please extend my apologies to all in your party who were coming with you.
“I appreciate the support and I look forward to trying again next year.
“Your ongoing support to Organ Donation and Transplantation is really appreciated.”
The match would have been the fourth annual test between NHS Blood and Transplant workers and England and Wales Transplant Cricket.
The England and Wales Cricket transplant team are a team made up of individuals with a common background – they all have received stem cell or organ transplants.
