Live in Solihull? Have your say on arts and culture

Solihull Editorial 4th Aug, 2024   0

SOLIHULL Council has been awarded funding from the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) to develop a draft cultural strategy for the town.

Over the summer, the Council is running a survey to get a clearer understanding of the events and activities residents take part in and how they value arts and culture.

This will be followed by workshops and events for people involved in arts and culture.

Solihull Council’s cabinet member of communities, Coun Wazma Qais, said: “It’s now time to further develop our arts and culture offer. It’s important that the culture strategy align with community aspiration and needs.

“But we need our residents to help us do this and that’s why I would urge people to take part in this survey and have their say.

“The first step in producing a cultural strategy for the borough is to hear residents’ views.

“The four-week survey asks about the activities you do and the places you go to for arts, culture and creativity. It also asks what you’d like to see in Solihull and what value you place on culture and creativity.

“I hope residents – adults and young people alike – take part in the survey.

“The views and feedback we receive will help us develop an inclusive culture strategy.

“Please participate and let your voice be heard and help us develop Solihull’s culture offer by sparing 10 minutes to take the survey and be part of this exciting journey.”

The four-week survey started on Friday August 2 and finishes on Sunday August 31.
