Solihull Police crackdown on crime during 'Operation Advance' day

Solihull Editorial 30th Jul, 2024   0

SOLIHULL Police are taking part in Operation Advance and had several good results today (Tuesday).

The 24-hour policing operation has been carried out in response to concerns raised by residents across the borough.

Planned activities include executing warrants, making arrests, doing road safety operations, visiting schools and colleges and working to address anti-social behaviour issues – all of which will take part alongside officers ‘business as usual’ responding to calls and requests for support.

There will also be a community day in Shirley Park, from 11am to 2pm where officers will be joined by our police puppies, Firearms, Forensics and more.

West Midlands Police said: “We’re able to plan so much activity because we have a large number of extra resources based in Solihull for the day, who would normally be shared out across the West Midlands.

“They’ll be joining our local officers from all the teams based in Solihull – including investigators, neighbourhood teams and partnerships, to make the biggest impact possible.

“We also have a whole range of partners from Solihull working with us throughout the day.

“We will all be working together to target those people who are committing crime and causing harm whether that’s within our neighbourhoods, on the roads or in the business community.

“Make sure to keep an eye on our dedicated web page and social media channels using #OpAdvance because we’ll be posting live updates, letting you know exactly what our officers are up to and sharing activity with you.”
