Have your say on West Midlands Police and Crime Plan

Solihull Editorial 14th Jul, 2024   0

RESIDENTS are being called on to speak out on what matters most to them and what they want the West Midlands Police Crime Commissioner (PCC) to prioritise, to prevent and tackle crime in the region.

Simon Foster has launched a three-month consultation at the Birmingham Mela to help shape his Police and Crime Plan.

The Plan helps set the strategic direction for West Midlands Police.

The PCC has said he wants to focus on a number of key areas, including rebuilding community policing, tackling violence with a particular focus on knife crime, making our roads safer and reducing neighbourhood crimes like burglary and car theft.

However, his Police and Crime Plan will include much more.

Mr Foster, said: “To be re-elected by the people of the West Midlands and to serve as your Police and Crime Commissioner for another four year term is a real honour.

“Now we have to work together, to make sure West Midlands Police is prioritising what matters most to you and what you want the force to prioritise, to prevent and tackle crime in the region.

“My pledge to you is that I will listen to your feedback and use it to form the basis of my Police and Crime Plan.”

Residents are being asked to fill out an online survey, which takes around six minutes to complete, with the results used to write the Commissioner’s four-year plan.

The consultation ends on September 30.
