Solihull shoppers help save young lives

CELEBRATIONS are in order as shoppers at Solihull’s The Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA) charity shop have funded more than 300 lifesaving missions for critically ill babies and children across the UK.

Since opening in 2013 the shop has generated more than £1.3million thanks to more than 21,000 bags of donated goods – this has allowed the charity to continue saving lives.

Store manager Luke Evans said: “We would like to thank everyone in the local community for their support over the past eleven years. Without this amazing support the charity wouldn’t be able to continue to save the lives of critically ill babies and children across the UK.

“We still rely on the local community’s support with donations of pre-loved items, as these provide vital funds for the children’s charity.”

The Children’s Air Ambulance is a charity changing the face of paediatric and neonatal care through the high-speed transfer of critically ill babies and children – flying them from one hospital to another for specialist care via the clinically designed helicopters, which provide a flying intensive care unit for babies and children.
