Meriden Library to temporary close for 'essential works'

MERIDEN library will temporarily close its doors for building maintenance works to be carried out.

Solihull Council says the closure, from December 28 to January 29 will see works including updating the current fire alarm system will be done during the closure.

The nearest library for customers during this temporary closure is Balsall Common.

All loans from Meriden Library will automatically be extended to take into account this temporary period of disruption.

Anyone who wishes to renew items during this period, can do so online with their library card and PIN or by phone on 0121 704 6965.

Alternatively, customers can also return books via a drop box outside the library.




Customers have the alternative option of using the Council’s eLibrary which has a wealth of eBooks and eAudiobooks available to download.

Councillor Wazma Qais, the cabinet member for Communities and Leisure said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure.


“Library services will still be available throughout this period, and we encourage customers to make use of our eLibrary.

“We look forward to welcoming our customers back soon.”
